I really loved the whole experience with the stories and knowledge about the culture and traditions, the huge huge variety of the collections of which I found several items very relateable at a personal level, and then to the end, the food and drinks were simply Mashallah. It was a very insightful trip. I learned interesting sides of Emirati culture and found many similarities with Kazakh traditions according to the talk. I think this is because Kazakhs led a Nomadic lifestyle before in the same way as Arabs were bedouins.
I would say I took not only a physical tour but also a historical tour back to old times.

"I think this past event has been one of my favorite events the GEOs have prepared for the visiting students. Not only were we transported to different decades by looking at the very valuable archives of [Umm al Yusuf], but we also found resemblances to our own cultures and upbringings. We went to the Emirati House and were given a tour. They told us many exciting things about Emirati culture and history. The place itself is very interesting: it shows how people used to live in this region, what household items they used, how they were taking rest, etc. The collection of different items from the past is amazing.
